Tips

Creating the aforementioned types of files over and over tin exist time-consuming and inconsistent across team members. Salvage time with templates in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, or Sites. You can cull an existing template or create your ain.

Examples

Use an existing template""

Choose an option:

  • From the Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, or Sites home screen, at the top, select one of the featured templates. Click Template gallery to see additional templates.
    Annotation: If you tin't detect Template gallery, go to Display or hide Template gallery.
  • If yous already have a file open in 1 of the Docs editors, click File and then New and then From template and select the template you want.
  • From Drive, click New and next to Google Docs, Sheets, Slides,Forms, or Sites signal to the Right arrow"" and click From a template.

Create your own template""

Y'all tin apply this feature but if your organization supports it. For help, contact your ambassador.

  1. Choose an option:
    • Create a new document, spreadsheet, presentation, form, or site.
    • Open an existing document, spreadsheet, presentation, form, or site and make the changes you want for your template.
    Note: If your template file is in a shared drive, check the sharing settings on the shared bulldoze. Sharing restrictions can preclude people from accessing the template. Run into Share and collaborate in shared drives.
  2. From the Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, or Sites domicile screen, at the superlative, click Template gallery and then your organization name.
    Note: If you can't observe Template gallery, go to Display or hide Template gallery.
  3. Click Submit template.
    Important: Y'all won't be able to submit a template if you do not have permission to alter the sharing settings of your template, or if the template sharing settings take been set to restrict viewers and commenters from downloading the file.
  4. Click Select a certificate and cull the template file yous created.
  5. Click Open.
  6. (Optional) To submit a re-create of the file instead of the original, bank check the box.
  7. Select a category for your file.
  8. Click Submit.

    To discover your new template, go to Template gallery and thenselect your template.

Brandish or hide Template gallery""

  1. Open Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms or Sites.
  2. At the peak, click Menu "" and then Settings.
  3. Cheque the Display recent templates on abode screens box and click OK.
  4. If you hibernate Template gallery, you can still get to the templates, if needed. At the bottom of Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, or Sites, point to New"" and click Cull template "" to open up the gallery.
